Pakistan Stock Exchange Building Attacked

Four gunmen were killed in Karachi earlier, when they tried to enter the stock exchange building with guns and a hand grenade, local media reported.
Bloomberg reported that the attackers were not able to enter the main compound and the situation is under control, according to a statement chief executive officer, Farrukh Khan, made on the phone.

The KSE 100 Index, which dropped after news of the attack, gained 0.1% at 11:40 a.m. in Karachi, the report said.
No group has claimed responsibility for the attack yet, Bloomberg stated.
According to Khan, at least one security guard was killed.
“Very heavy firing”
“There was a very heavy firing. We decided to close our office doors with no movement inside out”, said Ali Habib, chief executive officer at Aba Ali Securities, who was in his office on the fourth floor of the building, according to reports.
The gunmen attacked the building, which is in a high security zone, that also houses the head of many private banks, Karachi police chief Ghulam Nabi Memon told Reuters.
“Four attackers have been killed, they had come in a silver Corolla car”, he stated.
“The situation is still unfolding and management, with the help of security forces, is managing the security and controlling the situation”, the Pakistan Stock Exchange (PSX) said on Twitter.
