Clients of IG Group Suffer System-Wide Outage, Broker Says Back to Normal

Clients of IG Group are reporting problems using its trading terminals. Several users are complaining about problems logging into or using the broker’s platforms on Thursday, and complaints about reaching to help phone lines also began to climb afternoon.

According to some traders, the problem had been resolved with their broker, but still unable to specify what the issue was, only saying that their platforms were experiencing temporary outages this afternoon.
The UK spread better posted a message on its website saying it is experiencing technical issues and some clients were unable to log into their trading platform and apps.
We didn’t spot any other brokerages reporting similar outage at the time it was occurring.

Update : IG group posted on Twitter that all issues are now resolved and clients should be able to login and access the platform. It advised clients who still encounter issues to refresh and try to login again while the broker staff continues to respond via their social channels to concerned customers who tweeted that they could not log in to their accounts yet.
Glitches that kept clients from trading on historic market moves are becoming widespread and common. Earlier in March, Robinhood investment app experienced a system-wide outage and clients had difficulties accessing their accounts over two consecutive days due to higher-than-usual trading volumes.
The lack of access and trouble trading also comes during a stressful period for other US brokers. , TD Ameritrade and , experienced similar issues in March also amid heavy trading volumes.
Not only retail platforms were affected by these factors, however. Two trading platform failed at  in April when the financial markets were in chaos.
The US bank described  its wealth-management clients unable to trade during a massive stock sell-off. But issues cropped up again with its institutional stock-trading platform, which also experienced a “system-wide outage” during the same day.
