Sterling Trading Tech Names New Director of Business Development

Sterling Trading Tech, , announced on Wednesday that it has appointed Farid (Freddy) Zainal as the Director of Business Development.
According to a statement seen by Finance Magnates, Zainal joins Sterling Trading Tech with the goal to expand the reach of the company’s product lines, including its cloud-based real-time Sterling Risk System.

Sterling provides technology solutions for global equities, equity options, and futures markets. Overall, the company provides trading platforms, compliance tools, risk tools, infrastructure products and market data.
Zainal joins the trading technology provider from Apex Clearing Corporation, where he spent nearly five years and brings with him more than three decades of experience in the securities industry.
Most recently, Zainal was the Branch Manager at Apex Clearing Corporation, a role that he held for two and a half years. Prior to this, he was the Head of Prime Brokerage Consulting with the company, his LinkedIn shows.
During his career, Zainal has gained a deep knowledge of the equity markets, the statement said. Over the past 20 years, he has been the Senior Vice President with Spear, Leeds & Kellogg managing CBOE trading floor operations, the San Francisco Branch Manager for Execution and Clearing as well as a Former Partner with Merlin Securities, before being acquired by , among other roles.

Commenting on the appointment, Farid Naib, STT’s CEO said in the statement: “We are excited to add Freddy to the team, as a former STT client, he will be helpful in advising Sterling on the continual evolution of STT’s suite of products.”

“He will play a key role in expanding our existing client base and educating the wider marketplace about our proprietary Sterling Risk Engine,” added Andrew Actman, STT’s Managing Director of Business Development in the statement.
