IG Group Hires Joanna Nayler as Chief Legal and Governance Officer

, Europe’s largest online trading platform, has onboarded Joanna Nayler to take on the newly-created role of its Chief Legal and Governance Officer. She joins the FCA-regulated broker with immediate effect, based out of its offices in London and will report to June Felix, CEO of IG Group Holdings plc (LON: IGG).
Mrs Nayler has more than 20 years of corporate legal experience, including expertise in corporate law and governance, mergers and acquisitions, securities and transactional work, and managing legal risk.

She previously served as the General Counsel at PA Group in 2013 and moved into her most recent role at Just Retirement Group (now Just Group) following its merger with PA in 2016. Earlier roles include: Principal Legal Counsel – Consumer Lines EMEA at ACE European Group, before secondment to Combined Insurance in the European general counsel role to lead the company secretarial, legal and compliance functions and deal with material issues resulting from intensive regulatory scrutiny.
However, Nayler’s experience in the financial industry extends further back, from her time at Eversheds LLP, where he held similar legal roles for nearly six years, dating back to 1999.

Nayler holds an LLB in English & French Law and Post-graduate Diploma in Advanced Litigation.
The experience she accrued during her nearly two decades stint in different industries likely influenced IG’s decision to hire her to guide its legal, company secretarial and internal audit functions. Britain’s biggest player in the spread betting sector, with a 40 percent share of the market, the company has undergone  over the last few months.
