Banking giant announced the appointment of Robert Peck as chairman of global internet banking this Tuesday.
Peck, who is going to be based in New York, will take up his new position in June of this year.

He is the second internet banker that Barclays has hired in the past two months.
In February the London-based firm appointed Riaz Ladhabhoy as co-head of internet banking for the Americas.
Peck joins Barclays from Credit Suisse where he has spent the past two years as head of global internet investment banking.
“Bob is very highly regarded as a thought leader in the Internet space, and his deep relationships with key industry players will deliver great benefits for our clients,” said Laurence Braham, co-head of technology banking, Americas.
“He has an outstanding track record, and is a superb addition to our Internet platform and our broader technology franchise.”

Alongside his time at Credit Suisse, Peck was a managing director and global head of internet research at SunTrust Robinson Humphrey, the investment banking arm of SunTrust Banks.
He was also the president of merchant bank CoRise and an internet analyst at Baron Capital. On top of that experience, towards the start of his career Peck worked as an analyst at Merrill Lynch, Lehman Brothers and Bear Stearns.
“Bob’s expertise and experience will perfectly complement our origination-led banking model, and our delivery of standout strategic advice for our clients,” added John Miller, Global Head of Banking Coverage.
