Stellar Foundation Taps Mozilla’s COO Denelle Dixon as CEO

The Stellar Development Foundation – creator of the – has appointed former Mozilla executive Denelle Dixon as its Executive Director and Chief Executive Officer. Denelle will start her new job in May.

Denelle Dixon has been a mainstay the web browser developer since 2012. During her seven-year tenure, she had overseen an effort to diversify Mozilla revenue sources, including through the Pocket acquisition in February 2017. Her career encompasses different roles including  head of business and legal work, and most recently chief operations officer.
As Mozilla, Ms. Dixon led the teams that manage revenue, strategy, legal, business and partnerships, information technology, security, workplace resources and cross functional operations, her Linkedin profile shows.

Ms. Dixon said her new mission is to bring all she’s learned to Stellar and to ensure that internal teams work well together to achieve goals. Externally, she will work with partners and allies to ensure transparency, control and innovation for users and to create a sustainable business platform.
is an open-source payment technology that shares several similarities with Ripple. Both coins shared same protocol initially and were also co-founded by the same person, Jed McCaleb. Much like , Stellar also aims to connect financial institutions and reduce the cost and time required for cross-border transfers.
