Digital Vega, the operator of foreign exchange (forex) options , has today announced two senior appointments as part of its expanded product development strategy.
Joining the FX Options trading solutions provider is Simon “Benny” Lewis, who has been appointed as Head of Interdealer Solutions and Romain Camus who is the Head of Exotic Options at Digital Vega.
Lewis joins Digital Vega after a 20-year-long tenure at . Here, he helped to build an exotic options desk from scratch, the statement said. Whilst here, he was most recently the Global Head of FX Options before retiring in 2016.
Commenting on his new role, Lewis said: “Transparency, regulation and efficiency are driving the evolution of Capital Markets, and trading firms are increasingly looking to trade more of their FX options online as a result. Digital Vega has already built a strong business and reputation in the Dealer to Client market, and I am really pleased to be able to lead the new Interdealer initiative.”
Romain Camus Joins from VTB
Camus, on the other hand, joins Digital Vega from VTB, where was most recently an Executive Director, Head of Foreign Exchange Structuring. During his career, he has managed to acquire 15 years worth of experience in the FX industry, in addition to further roles in both commodities and equities.
Prior to his position at VTB, Camus also worked at well-known financial institutions such as , where he worked in FX Structuring, according to his LinkedIn, as well as Goldman Sachs, where he held a similar position.
“Joining Digital Vega was an obvious decision for me, as it has an innovative set of products and an impressive client list, which provides a tremendous foundation of success to build upon. Building and delivering an Exotics and Wealth Management platform will capture the growing volumes in this asset class and satisfy client demand for the increased use of electronic trading solutions,” added Camus.
Digital Vega Plans to Add Further Employees
As part of the company’s expansion, Digital Vega has hired two new senior developers and has plans to expand its sales team with two new recruits. Furthermore, to accommodate the expansion, the FX-focused company has moved to new offices in Lombard St in London.
