Amir Khan and ThinkMarkets Partner to Support Disadvantaged Kids

Another day, another in the world of FX brokers. This Tuesday, ThinkMarkets,, announced that it is partnering with Amir Khan – a famous boxer.
Khan, who rose to fame after winning a silver medal in the 2004 Olympics, will be working with the broker to help less fortunate kids get jobs in London. According to a statement issued by the ThinkMarkets this Tuesday, the partnership with Khan is aimed at helping 100 young people get jobs in London’s financial district by 2022.

“ThinkMarkets believes that the City is open to numerous opportunities and skill sets,” said the statement, “London should be recognised as the capital of business and commerce, as opposed to violence and murder.”
When one thinks of the City, one tends to imagine Hermes-tie wearing bankers, screaming down a 1980s-style landline phone, with hair-oil dripping down their face. But not everyone who works in the Square Mile looks like .
Amir Khan – trader extraordinaire
In its statement, ThinkMarkets rightly pointed out that there are an array of different jobs that suit a range of abilities. The broker noted that the 100 young people it aims to help could work in marketing, IT, compliance or trading.
The broker proposes to do this by, amongst other things, providing educational courses on trading strategies. How that will help anyone get into compliance, marketing or IT is unclear.
ThinkMarkets added that these lessons are going to be combined “with Amir Khan’s secrets to success in the ring.” This author isn’t entirely convinced that slow execution or low liquidity can be resolved by punching someone in the face but perhaps I’ll attend a ThinkMarkets class and be shown otherwise.
Khan himself issued a scintillating statement regarding the partnership, saying: “ThinkMarkets share my passion for providing positive change through sporting initiatives and I look forward to collaborating with them on a number of exciting projects.”
