Divisa Capital Promotes Michael Ayres to Chief Operating Officer

Divisa Capital, a , has appointed Michael Ayres as its Chief Operating Officer for its UK operations. Ayres is replacing Arik Oslerne, who stepped down from the position on July 26, 2018.
According to Ayres’ LinkedIn, he was appointed to his new role this month. Before this, he was the Chief Risk Officer at the broker, a position he has held since May this year.

Ayres’ has ten years worth of experience in the forex industry, kick-starting his career in 2008 at ODL Securities LTD where he worked in the forex operations/middle office. During his time at the company, his responsibilities ranged from Trade Reconciliation, Prime Broker Risk management, Daily Profit & Loss reports and a suite of other tasks.
Before joining Divisa Capital, Ayres was the Director of Operations at GKFX, a provider of CFD trading, spread betting and foreign exchange. He joined the firm in November 2013 until he left for in March this year.
When Ayres first joined GKFX he was the Head of EFX & Trading Operations. This involved leading Global Trading operations and solutions for the broker. He also helped establish and implement the company’s strategy.
In October 2016, Ayres was promoted to Director of Operations. In this role, he managed a team of more than 30 people across the world. According to his LinkedIn, during his time at the company, he established core company functions for Trading, Middle Office, Institutional Sales, Business Development, Operational Risk, and Clients Services.
Between 2010 to 2012, Ayres held a number of positions at Alpari, a global foreign exchange, precious metals, spread betting and CFD broker. In October 2010 he joined the firm as Trade Support. He then went on to be an FX trader and then later, a risk analyst with the firm.

Ayres is replacing Arik Oslerne, who, as , left in July. The reason for his departure is not clear. This move saw him end his three-year-tenure with the broker. He originally joined the firm in April 2015 as the General Counsel and an Executive Director.
