BGC Partners Appoints Liam Hudson as Head of Electronic FX

BGC Partners, a , has appointed Liam Hudson as Head of Electronic Forex, according to information made public on his LinkedIn profile. Hudson will be running the broker’s electronic products globally.
has its headquarters in both London and New York. In his new role, Hudson will be based in the firm’s London office. He joins the company with almost two decades worth of experience in the forex industry, with a particular focus on electronic trading.

Hudson assumes his new position from the . Here he was a Managing Director and Global Head of FX eCommerce. He worked for the American multinational investment bank for eight years between February 2010 until February 2018.
Before this,  Hudson was a Director of FX Algorithmic Execution at . He joined the British investment bank in November 2018. Hudson left the multinational bank after working for just under one and a half years in 2010.
According to his LinkedIn profile, Hudson began his career in 2001 working at Lehman Brothers, an FXLIVE Foreign Exchange Trading Platform. Hudson worked for the firm up until 2008 when the company went bankrupt. Before this, it was a primary dealer in the U.S. Treasury securities market.
Between 1990 until 1996 Hudson attended the Imperial College London, the only university in the United Kingdom to exclusively focus on science, medicine, engineering and business. In 1993 he graduated the university with a Bachelor of Science (BSc) majoring in Physics with Honours. He then went on to study his PhD in Physics, which he achieved in 1996.
