Trading technology provider Horizon Software said on Tuesday that it has started allowing clients to trade Bitcoin and several other digital coins through its newly minted gateway.
Horizon provides a wide selection of electronic trading solutions and algorithmic technology for a broad range of asset classes and instruments, including stocks, futures, options, bonds, indexes and ETFs. The company’s platform can be used to create strategies, scripting, views and charts; the source code is available to clients for customisation.
Horizon’s native gateway connects the main cryptocurrency exchanges, including Kraken, Bitstamp, Bitfinex and GDAX, with more exchanges to be added in the weeks ahead.
The platform also provides robust financial tools, such as pre-trade risk management and trade reporting. Users can also benefit from the Drop Copy risk management service, which is designed to facilitate real-time monitoring of trading activity on the CME Globex platform.

Although they have been around for a while, the successful launch in December of BTC Futures on CBOE and CME represents a strong signal of institutional recognition from market participants.
