Société Générale Hires Florian Dumas to Head Institutions Sales in Asia-Pacific

Société Générale Corporate & Investment Banking has recruited a new head for its FIC in Asia-Pacific – the division which incorporates institutional sales for fixed income and currencies (FIC) and global markets.

Florian Dumas – a former BNP Paribas employee – has taken up the newly created role with immediate effect. Mr. Dumas will become responsible for expanding and managing the firm’s client relationships in the region for products spanning interest rates, credit, foreign exchange and securitized products.

Dumas will also oversee FX and rates distribution to all institutional clients in Asia and will work with management to review the Asian institutional sales organization.

He will be based in Hong Kong and report to Paris-based Albert Loo, Global Head of FIC and Cross Asset Solution Sales and Global Markets. He will also report regionally to Guillaume Miquel, Head of Fixed Income and Currencies, Global Markets for Asia Pacific.

Dumas has spent the majority of his career in Asia, having started out with a position covering both G10 and emerging markets in 1998. Most recently, he headed BNP Paribas’ institutional rates and foreign exchange sales division for Asia, excluding Japan. During this tenure, he focused on distributing the bank’s CORTEX platform across institutional client segments in APAC, a key growth area for the bank in recent years.
