CLS Group Promotes Gaynor Wood to General Counsel

CLS Group (CLS), a provider of risk mitigation and operational services for the foreign exchange (FX) market, has appointed Gaynor Wood to the role of General Counsel, according to a CLS statement.

Mrs. Wood originally joined CLS back in 2013, having since served as the Head of the London Legal team. She has been a mainstay in the legal space, previously working at JPMorgan Chase, Bank of America Merrill Lynch, and other leading investment banks in the London area.

In her new role as she will be succeeding Alan Marquard, who has led both CLS’s Legal division and the Corporate Strategy and Development (CSD) division. In this capacity she will be reporting to David Puth, CEO of CLS, and becomes a member of CLS’s Executive Management Committee.

According to Mr. Puth in a statement on the appointment: “Gaynor has in-depth knowledge of all aspects of the legal framework supporting CLS as well as legislation and regulatory guidelines affecting our members and ecosystem participants.”

“As the work of our Corporate Strategy and Development division has intensified with our ongoing focus on growth and development of new products, we have decided that Alan should focus solely on overseeing this division given its importance to CLS. I am pleased to have Gaynor take on the critically important responsibilities of the General Counsel role,” he added.
