Mobile Remittance App Bux Joins OKLink’s Blockchain Settlement Network

BUX, an Australian mobile money wallet provider, has partnered with the blockchain-based global settlement platform .

BUX currently provides digital payment services for the unbanked, allowing users to top up mobile phones, pay bills, make e-commerce payments, and send money internationally, without a credit card or bank account. Via OKLink, BUX now offers access to additional real-time settlement options via bank transfer, cash pickup and mobile wallets, in more than 20 countries, including the Philippines, China, Japan, South Korea, India, and Indonesia.

Devere Bryan, Chief Operating Officer at BUX, comments on the partnership: “With the growth of international migrant communities around the world, and the progress made with financial inclusion in developing counties and under-banked markets, BUX has built our business model around facilitating the day to day economic and communicative needs of the people in these specific segments, aligned with staying at the cutting edge with mobile app development and the social network evolution.

We are very excited to partner with OKLink, as we view it as the region’s premier settlement system. OKLink will help BUX bolster and expand our network allowing us to provide more customers all over the world with a fast, convenient, cost effective and reliable solution for their cross border payment needs, right in the palm of their hands.”

Jason Lau, Vice President of Business Development at OKLink, said: “We are thrilled Bux has chosen OKLink as the backbone of their remittance services. We hope to help Bux reach many more overseas workers in the region who have limited access to banks and we look forward to working with Devere and the entire BUX team on this partnership.”
