Maria João accepted the offer, pending all regulatory approvals by the relevant authorities.

Burkhard Varnholt, Credit Suisse

Credit Suisse Group AG made a new senior level appointment on Wednesday, who will succeed Anja Hochberg. Mr. Varnholt will serve as the CIO of its Credit Suisse’s Swiss unit and his appointment will begin only on January 1, 2017. He will be assuming the mantle of responsibility for its investment capabilities across the International Wealth Division.

Mr. Macfarlane was made a director back in 2007 following his retirement from the RBA governorship after a 10-year stint.
