Hong Kong’s Securities and Futures Commission (SFC), the country’s paramount securities regulator, has seen its latest appointment, adding Edward Cheng Wai-Sun as its newest Non-Executive Director. He will begin his term on January 1, 2017, according to an SFC filing.

Mr. Cheng Wai-Sun is currently the acting Deputy Chairman and Chief Executive of Wing Tai Properties Limited, a Hong Kong based property developer and operator of hospitality services and owner of several tailoring factories – he will begin his two-year term this January.
According to Carlson Tong, the SFC’s Chairman, in a recent statement on the appointment: “I would like to extend a warm welcome to Mr Cheng who brings with him a wealth of expertise to the Board and I look forward to working with him in the coming two years.”
“I would also like to express our sincere gratitude to outgoing Non-Executive Director Professor Leonard Cheng Kwok-hon for his invaluable contribution during his time with the SFC,” he added.
