Lykke, a Swiss fintech company , has announced the results of the first 10 days of its Initial Coin Offering (ICO). 547,430 Swiss francs have been raised through the sale of almost 11 million Lykke coins of 30 million available and the number of Lykke coin holders has more than doubled.
Founded by Richard Olsen, previously founder and CEO of forex broker OANDA, the company offers fee-free trading of major currencies and Bitcoin. The Lykke Exchange will trade all classes of financial instruments, issued in the form of colored coins, to enable direct ownership and immediate settlement.
Lykke has previously closed three rounds of funding for 1.56 million Swiss francs. The company now offers its equity tokens for sale to “people who believe in and want to help build the platform.” Anyone over 18 (except US citizens) can download the Lykke Wallet application for iOS or Android and buy Lykke coins for Swiss francs, US dollars, Bitcoin, and Ether.
“It is not the money we have raised, but the diversity of our growing community that we appreciate most,” says Olsen. “For us it’s a sign that people with various backgrounds believe in the Lykke Exchange and blockchain technology to revolutionize the present-day financial system.”
The offering will last until October 10, 2016. After the campaign the price of Lykke coins will freely float according to market demands.
