Credit Suisse Appoints Asset Management Heads for Americas and EMEA

Swiss Banking Group Credit Suisse has appointed Bill Johnson as head of Asset Management Americas and Michel Degen as head of Asset Management Switzerland and EMEA (Europe, Middle East and Africa), according to Reuters, which has been reportedly confirmed by the bank.

Johnson’s new post is an additional role to his current position of deputy global head of asset management. He is tasked with overseeing the Commodities Group, Credit Investments Group, Securitized Products Fund and Private Funds Group.

Johnson has a wealth of experience in the industry, having worked in a series of roles at UBS, JP Morgan and Two Harbors Investment Corp. Anteil Capital Partners, NEXT, and Mexico Credit Opportunities Trust will continue to report to Johnson, along with the other Americas-based businesses which currently report to him.

Michel Degen

Degen’s new role includes all existing core businesses, alternative funds solutions and Credit Suisse Energy Infrastructure Partners. His previous experience includes stints at BNP Paribas and UBS Global Asset Management.

Michael Strobaek, former head of asset management in Switzerland, remains global chief investment officer of Credit Suisse and head of investment solutions and products for IWM.
