ICBC Standard Bank Adds Mon Ullah as Head of Equity Financing

Finance Magnates has learned that ICBC Standard Bank has appointed former Bank of America Merrill Lynch banker, Mon Ullah, as head of equity financing as part of its plans to boost its investment banking capabilities across Europe, according to a Reuters report today.

The move follows the addition of former Credit Suisse banker Vikram Khanna in August as head of advisory who was tasked with overseeing the development of mergers and acquisitions in the bank’s equity capital markets and debt advisory businesses.

Mon Ullah joins ICBC Standard Bank having previously worked at Barclays and most recently at Bank of America Merrill Lynch, where he helped oversee controversial tax-focused trading strategies in the bank’s structured equity finance and trading division.

ICBC Standard Bank is a strategic platform for serving the growing demands of its clients in global markets products where it specialises in commodities, fixed income, currencies and equities.

Headquartered in London, the bank was created in February 2015 after China’s ICBC bought a 60 percent stake in its London-based global markets business.
