Ilies Larbi Elevated as Member of FXCM’s Executive and Risk Committee

An employee of FXCM for nearly ten years, Ilies Larbi, has been elevated to the role of Managing Director (MD) of Europe, and joins as a member of the company’s Executive and Risk Committee for the brand’s UK entity, according to information updated today on a LinkedIn profile dating the change effective from March 2016.

The same public profile lists Mr. Larbi as having studied in several universities across Europe and Canada, and attending high school in the United States, where he has since catapulted his FX industry career after a series of positions that led to his current  after initially starting as a sales associate at the company in 2006.

Mr. Larbi lists a Master’s degree from France’s ESCP – EAP European business school, after obtaining a Bachelor’s degree in engineering from McGill in Canada, and following earlier years attending the French International School in Washington D.C.

Considering that he joined as a sales associate and is now MD for the company’s European business and part of FXCM’s Executive and Risk Committee, this shows that the corporate ladder can be climbed from bottom to top, even if it might take a decade.

The promotion follows his last role as  and Head of Sales for UK and Europe, which was a role that he had taken last March, after holding the position of VP and head of Sales for France and Germany.

Around the time of publication Finance Magnates reporters spoke with Mr. Larbi who explained that he was made aware of the news of the promotion just yesterday and that the new positions will go into effect next Monday,
