Mizuho Securities USA (MSUSA), the US investment subsidiary of Mizuho Financial Group (NYSE: MFG), has appointed Eric Shenker as the group’s newest Managing Director and Head of US Equity Trading, according to a Mizuho statement.
In his new role as the Head of US Equity Trading, Mr. Shenker will be tasked with establishing a greater equities presence in the United States, one of the largest markets in the country. The move is also the second recent hire in the unit to bolster Mizuho’s equity capabilities in the region in as many months.
Back in July, . She has since been leading the group’s specialty pharmaceutical research, having joined from Cantor Fitzgerald in a similar role.
Prior to joining Mizuho Securities, Mr. Shenker worked as the Head of Equities Trading at institutional broker-dealer CRT Capital Group. In addition, he has held a variety of senior equity-centric positions, including roles at Alliance Bernstein LP, Bascom Hill Partners, Morgan Stanley, and Deutsche Bank, among others.
According to John Koudounis, President and CEO of Mizuho Securities, in a recent statement on the appointment, “Eric is a highly experienced trader and skilled executive with a distinguished career on Wall Street.”
