Cantor Fitzgerald Fortifies Its Fixed Income Team, Hiring Two Executives

Cantor Fitzgerald has announced a new round of expansionary hires to its Fixed Income team, culminating in the appointment of John Altier and Andrew Javorsky as the group’s newest Managing Directors, according to a Cantor Fitzgerald statement.

In his new role as Managing Director, Mr. Altier will be tasked with the focusing on the US government agency and Treasury securities, two avenues that are instrumental to the Fixed Income market in the US. Alternatively, as Managing Director, Mr. Javorsky will focus on a comprehensive suite of mortgage products.

According to Shawn P. Matthews, Chief Executive Officer of Cantor Fitzgerald & Co., in a recent statement on the appointments, “We are very excited about the opportunity to add John and Andrew to our leading franchise.”

Prior to joining Cantor Fitzgerald, Mr. Altier worked as a Partner at CRT Capital Group as well as at UBS in a similar role. By extension, Mr. Javorsky has landed at Cantor after a stint as Managing Director in mortgages and structured product sales at Royal Bank of Scotland (RBS).

“Their appointments are part of our on-going expansion of Cantor’s Fixed Income Division, and demonstrates our ability to attract seasoned sales and trading professionals with deep expertise and extensive institutional relationships. We are committed to strengthening our distribution platform and enhancing our capabilities to ensure we are able to continuously deliver informed and thoughtful advice to clients,” he noted.

As such, “Our robust fixed income distribution platform is a reflection of our ability to hire top talent from the market. We expect John and Andrew will add depth to our capabilities and accelerate our growth in Mortgages and Rates,” added John Baldo, Senior Managing Director and Global Head of Fixed Income Sales at Cantor Fitzgerald & Co., in an accompanying statement.
