BofA Merrill Lynch’s EM Head Alex Von Sponeck Parts Ways with Lender

Bank of America (BofA) Merrill Lynch has lost its managing director and head of financing origination for Europe, Middle East and Africa (EMEA), Alex Von Sponeck, who is parting ways with the lender, according to a recent Reuters report.

Mr. Von Sponeck has held the role of senior managing director at BofA Merrill Lynch since 2012, having specialized in the emerging market (EM) debt origination, where he was based out of London. He also worked at the global lender from 2003-2008.

Prior to working at BofA Merrill Lynch, Mr. Von Sponeck worked at Goldman Sachs as its managing director since 2008. Moreover, he has also held a number of roles at WestLB and White & Case dating back to 1996.
