Bitcoin payment service provider BitPay, alongside Bitcoin accepting pioneer TigerDirect are expanding their joint service to now support Bitcoin payments on the internet retailer’s Canadian website TigerDirect.ca.
TigerDirect’s US site back in January to more than adequate success, in the first 3 days. The new endeavor will now bring the same support to TigerDirect’s Canadian customer base, giving them the option to pay for their order in Bitcoin.
“We are very pleased with our BitPay implementation on TigerDirect.com and are excited to roll it out across our other sites. As of today, TigerDirect.ca and our mobile/tablet sites will be accepting bitcoin as a payment method,” said Steven Leeds, Director of Marketing for TigerDirect.
The initial push to accept Bitcoin came after TigerDirect’s success in supplying and selling Bitcoin mining equipment. Realizing a large portion of the online retailer’s customers are Bitcoin users spawned the interest in offering an option to pay for products in the digital currency.
