International card company MasterCard is continuing on expanding the availability of its wallet service MasterPass and has announced today the launch of the service in New Zealand.
MasterCard’s first partnership in New Zealand is with . The bank will be the first financial institution with the ability to issue wallets in the country. MasterCard has also partnered with payment service providers , , , , and to intergrate support for the Ewallet. Current local retailers which already support MasterPass include Webjet, BuyInvite, DC Shoes, Jeanswest, LivingSocial, NZSALE, Quiksilver and Roxy.
MasterPass is a digital and mobile wallet which gives its users the ability to store shipping information, billing information, and multiple card information to allow for a quick, seamless, and frictionless purchase experience. MasterPass is not functional only with MasterCard cards, and can store practically any card from the major card companies.
“MasterPass is about providing consumers and businesses with convenience, accessibility and security,” said Peter Chisnall, MasterCard New Zealand Country Manager.
More retailers including Book My Show, Briscoes, Event Cinemas, Fishpond, Live Nation, Living & Giving, Rebel Sport, Ticketmaster, plus many more plan to join on soon.
MasterPass has already launched in , , , , and , among more countries. MasterPass also to offer in-app purchase integration for its iPad variant of its magazine.
