Skrill stops E-wallet support for Lock Poker

One of the leading European poker services, Lock Poker, has stopped accepting deposits through Skrill.  Skrill will currently only support withdrawals made to the Skrill E-wallet. A Skrill spokesperson did state, “Skrill can confirm that it is to end the facilitation of deposits to Lock Poker, effective immediately. As a result, Skrill will no longer accept uploads or deposits to Lock Poker but will continue to process withdrawals, enabling customers to receive any funds due to them.”

Skrill operates the world’s largest online gambling wallet, and not being able to support the immensely popular service can mean quite a blow to a gaming operator. Lock Poker was already receiving complaints that their cash-out process was taking too long, and can even take months to complete. Shane Bridges, the Director of Social Media for Lock Poker, did state, “Lock Poker made the decision to suspend deposits through Skrill as we are focusing on clearing up our cash-outs.”

There is no word as of yet if Skrill will also be dropping support for withdrawals to the E-wallet after all cash-outs are completed. In addition, no reason was given as to why Skrill is no longer supporting deposits to Lock Poker. However their spokesperson did mention that services may be reinstated in the near future.

The size and acceptance of Skrill in the online gambling industry, especially in Europe, may take an unwanted toll on the poker service. Not being able to support the E-wallet may shun a large amount of players away from Lock Poker’s tables.
