Seattle based coffee giant, StarBucks and micro-blogging social network, Twitter have announced a new service called “tweet-a-coffee”.
“tweet-a-coffee”, currently being piloted in the US for now, allows anyone with a Starbucks card to link their information to their Twitter account to send $5 gift cards to anyone through a tweet.
The service is simple, the user mentions @tweetacoffee in addition to the twitter handle they are interested in sending the gift card to, afterwards the recipient receives a link to their e-gift card that they can print out or present on their smartphone at any Starbucks location.
From now until November 6th, Starbucks and Twitter are running a promotion for Visa cardholders that will reward the sender with a $5 gift card as well for every tweet-a-coffee sent.
Lately we have been posting about quite a few . It seems that this is a booming trend, and now we are also seeing large brand names jumping on the social funds wagon.
