Dollar Little Changed as Weekend Does Not Bring Good News

The US dollar was little changed today as an agreement about raising the debt ceiling was not reached over the weekend, but hopes for a consensus among US politicians remain.

US politicians were not able to make a deal about increasing the debt limit (at least temporary). There were reports about a progress in the discussion and talks will resume tomorrow. There is not much time left before the deadline on October 17, but the Forex market is quiet, suggesting that traders are not yet particularly concerned.

EUR/USD rose a little from 1.3558 to 1.3563 as of 11:20 GMT today after falling to 1.3544 earlier. USD/JPY near the opening level of 98.23.
