National Australia Bank (NAB) has made two appointments to its Executive Leadership Team, the bank announced today.
Rachel Slade will be Group Executive Personal Banking, with end-to-end accountability for the home lending and everyday banking needs of personal customers, including the branch network, direct and digital channels.
Slade currently works as a Chief Customer Experience Officer at NAB. She leads the product, marketing, customer experience , digital and innovation teams.
Slade will remain a member of the Executive Leadership Team.
Nathan Goonan has been appointed Group Executive Strategy and Innovation and will join the Executive Leadership Team immediately.
He will be responsible for execution of the bank’s strategy, innovation and transformation agenda and all mergers and acquisition activity.
Goonan currently serves as NAB’s General Manager Group Strategy and Development.

“Rachel and Nathan are talented leaders with deep experience in banking and will play critical roles in delivering for our customers and our bank”, says NAB CEO Ross McEwan.
“As Chief Customer Experience Officer, Rachel has been passionate about creating better experiences for customers and has led significant changes, including simplifying our products and improving our digital solutions,” he continues.
“Nathan joins the Executive Leadership Team having led the development of NAB’s long-term strategy announced today. He too is a passionate advocate for customers and has played a key role in NAB’s major strategic moves in recent years including the divestment of NAB’s UK business”, McEwan adds.
