BGC Partners, Inc. (NASDAQ: BGCP), a global brokerage company specializing in financial and real estate markets, has parted ways with Liam Hudson, the Global Head of Electronic FX of its , FXweek reported.
Liam had been based out of the company’s for the last year and a half, leading the broker’s e-commerce division, comprising technology and e-trading products and services. He has nearly 20 years of experience in the financial industry and originally joined the American global financial services company back in August 2018. He came from Bank of America, where he was Managing Director and Global Head of FX eCommerce for almost eight years.

A stint at Lehman Brothers
BGC’s support all aspects of foreign exchange (FX) option activity from pricing, automated price distribution, trading, risk management, and post-trade processing (STP, trade reporting, etc.).
According to his LinkedIn profile, Hudson’s first broke into the financial markets was in 2001 when he worked at Lehman Brothers as senior vice president of its FX eTrading, joining the team responsible for its FXLIVE Foreign Exchange trading platform. He worked for the firm up until 2008 when the company went bankrupt. Before this, it was a primary dealer in the U.S. Treasury securities market.
Between 1990 until 1996 Hudson attended the Imperial College London, the only university in the United Kingdom to exclusively focus on science, medicine, engineering, and business. In 1993 he graduated the university with a Bachelor of Science (BSc) majoring in Physics with Honours. He then went on to study his Ph.D. in Physics, which he achieved in 1996.
