Stephane Targui, a professional within the foreign exchange (forex) industry with two decades worth of experience, has been promoted to co-head of FX, rates and credit (FRC) Asia sales, banks and corporates at UBS, Finance Magnates has learned.
According to his LinkedIn profile, Targui commenced the new position in May of this year. He was promoted from the position of FRC Distribution, Institutional & Hedge Fund Coverage.
During his 20-year long career, Targui has held a number of roles at notable banks and financial firms. Before he was at UBS, he was the head of Asia Pacific (APAC) sales for forex at Jefferies.
Stephane Targui’s Career Before UBS
Targui was employed at Jefferies for 2 years and 4 months, from March 2013 until June 2015, his LinkedIn states. Again, he worked for the company in Singapore and he also held the title of Senior Vice President.
Prior to his stint with Jefferies, Targui worked in fixed-income, currency, commodities and financial institutions sales at for a period of three years, according to his LinkedIn profile.
In 1999, Targui started his career in the forex industry at BNP Paribas in Paris. Initially, he joined the firm as an FX Options Trader. After three years, he went on to work in fixed-income and FX sales for France. After six years with BNP Paribas, he left in 2005.
From the French multinational banking group, Targui moved onto the , commonly referred to by its acronym – RBS. According to his LinkedIn, he joined the company in February of 2006 until November of 2009. Whilst here, he was head of French fixed-income and FX sales.
Between 1992 until 1995, Targui studied at the Ecole Supérieure de Commerce de Compiegne. This translates to the Higher School of Commerce of Compiegne. Here he studied Finance.
