Finance Magnates learned on Monday that Conor O’Driscoll has joined trading platform provider Devexperts.
The technology company provides solutions to both the retail and institutional trading worlds.
It’s the former that O’Driscoll will likely be focusing the bulk of his efforts on.
The Irishman has been appointed VP of the company’s over-the-counter (OTC) platform.
His new role comes retail brokerage FxPro.
Before he left the company last September, O’Driscoll was deputy chief executive officer and chief operating officer at FxPro.
During his tenure close to the helm of the broker, FxPro’s profit increased by 37 percent.
He also helped launch the company’s spread betting platform and a professional service for UK and Irish customers.
London via Dublin
O’Driscoll got his start in the retail trading world back in 2009.
After finishing university he joined Dublin-based Pan Index as a trading services agent, becoming a manager a year into the role.
In 2011, he then moved to another Irish firm – Baxter Financial Services.
Also based in Dublin, the company provides prime of prime brokerage services to the foreign exchange market.
O’Driscoll spent just over a year at the firm, working in the company’s sales division and hedging on behalf of both Baxter and the prime broker’s clients.
In late 2012, the new Devexperts man moved again – this time to FxPro.
Joining as an FX dealer, O’Driscoll worked his way up the company ladder, becoming assistant chief dealer in 2014.
Two years after that, he led the company’s initial public offering team and, in January of 2017, was promoted to the deputy CEO position.
