Domino’s adds Google Wallet support to its mobile application

World leading convenience food provider Domino’s Pizza has added Google wallet support to its mobile application.

Domino’s has embraced the mobile and online ordering trend and offers and fast a convenient order process that can be completed from basically any connected device. With its new Android application customers can now choose to pay with their Google Wallet account alongside credit/debit and cash on delivery.

Google is reinventing its mobile wallet solution after carrier restrictions and lack of interest from merchants fared a less than impressive adoption rate. on devices running older versions of its Android operating system to help with simplifying the payment process for both customers and merchants by using Host Card Emulation (HCE). Google also released a to allow users the option to pay practically anywhere. The big G has also recently added

“The technology we initially used relied on hardware. And there were a bunch of hurdles to get it out the door using that approach. So we asked ourselves if we could emulate the secure element in software, and make it a core service in Android,” said Ariel Bardin, Payments Chief at Google.

Upon checkout the customer will be given the option to pay with either their Google Wallet or conventional payment methods. Given that Android is linked to the user’s Google account, which in turn is linked to the Google Wallet account, the integrated payment service is quick and seamless.

Linking with one of the most used mobile ordering services should help with brining more users to using the wallet service. We expect to see more online Ecommerce and Mcommerce solutions accepting Google Wallet as popularity increases.
