Optimal Payments chairman steps down

Global provider of payment and fraud solutions, Optimal Payments announced yesterday that their Chairman, Dale Johnson will step down from his position this coming Wednesday.

The reason for Johnson relieving his position is not clear. A spokesperson for Optimal Payments simply stated “changing personal circumstances” in regard to Johnson’s sudden announcement. Currently, Jonathan Comerford, a non-executive director has been appointed as interim chairman, until a new chairman is appointed.

The news came as quite a surprise, given Optimal Payments stellar first half of this year, with a 75% increase with their Netteller ewallet division. The company’s stock did drop yesterday by 1%, most likely due to the sudden news of Johnson’s departure.
