IG Group Holdings, has announced today that Andy Green joined the firm’s board as Deputy Chairman and is designated to succeed Jonathan Davie as Chairman when he will step down on 16 October 2014. Mr. Green is currently a non-executive director of ARM Holdings Plc.
Jonathan Davie, chairman of IG, commented on the announcement: “As we look forward to the future I am delighted that we have attracted someone of Andy’s calibre to chair our Board. Andy brings a wealth of corporate experience and in-depth knowledge of leading-edge technology and marketing companies.”
Mr. Green has a BSc in Chemical Engineering from the University of Leeds. He served as Group Chief Executive of Logica Plc from 2008 until 2012, when it was acquired by CGI. Prior to this he was a member of the Board of BT Group Plc, where he held several senior roles, most latterly CEO of Group Strategy and Operations. Mr. Green also advises the UK Department for Business, Innovation and Skills (BIS) as co-chairman of the Space Leadership Council and a member of the Information Economy Council.
In the announcement, Mr. Green said about his new role: “I am extremely pleased to be joining IG. This is a very exciting time for the company, as it seeks to establish itself as the default choice for active traders.”
