Twitter, in a surprising move, has begun to offer in-tweet purchases with the addition of a “Buy Now” button on select shared tweets.
Without any official announcement, the Ecommerce enabled tweets began popping up from what seems to be a test account sharing listing from . Another hint the tweets are from a test account is the prices which range from a few dollars up to $500 million.
The tweets were first uncovered by tech news outlet which posted screenshots of the “Buy Now” button on an Apple iPhone. According to Re/code the buttons currently do nothing, which proves more so that the feature is currently still being tested.
We here at Payment Magnates tried the feature on an Android powered phone. The results were slightly different, instead if a “Buy Now” button there is an “Open in Fancy app” button which redirects the user to the listing within Fancy’s application.
Neither Twitter nor Fancy commented on the new purchase enabled tweets. It is hard to believe Fancy would have found a way to add a buy button within Twitter’s application without some sort of approval, or joint partnership with the social network.
