France’s financial markets regulator, the Autorité des Marchés Financiers (AMF), today appointed Bernard Coupez as the newest chairman of its board of directors, succeeding Jean-Luc Enguehard, who held this position since February 2015.
The AMF board’s ten members, appointed by the regulator after consulting with industry groups, has also announced the new composition of the Certification Board under the chairmanship of Bernard Coupez.
Most recently, Mr. Coupez served as teaching researcher at Research Centre for Economics and Law of Panthéon-Assas University. He began his career in 1984 and holds a master’s degree in economics from the University of Louvain. Mr. Coupez’s areas of expertise include asset management, corporate finance, financial and economic research, public affairs and regulation.
Bernard’s career also encompasses various positions in many European financial institutions. He previously served with BNP-Paribas where he contributed actively to the continuing education system of the bank. Mr. Coupez was originally appointed a member of the AMF board in 2015.
