SIX Swiss Exchange has appointed Frédéric Messein as its newest Head of SIX Corporate Bonds, according to a SIX statement.
In his new role as the Head of SIX Corporate Bonds, Mr. Messein has been tasked with overseeing the launch of the group’s new credit trading platform. He has landed at SIX from Thomson Reuters, where he worked as its Global Head of Fixed Income & Foreign Exchange (FX) Product Management and Content Strategy. In this capacity, he helped pioneer the coordination of fixed income and FX products. Additionally, he has also worked for Reuters as its Head of Sales and Trading Products, Europe, Middle East and Africa (EMEA).
According to Urs Widmer, Head Business & Market Development at SIX Swiss Exchange, in a recent statement on the appointment: “We are very pleased that Frédéric Messein has joined the team to lead the new SIX Corporate Bonds platform. His experience in the space of global fixed income projects will be instrumental to the development of our trading venue.”
Earlier this year, following a mounting divergence in the strategic direction of the organization. Mr. Katz had served as SIX’s CEO since 2009, during which time the Swiss Exchange catapulted itself into being one of Europe’s integral stock exchanges.
