MetaQuotes has informed its clients about more upcoming changes to the fee structure of its most popular software product. The company has increased the monthly support fees it charges on every additional MetaTrader 4 server that clients use by about a third.
The change comes only days after the software developer of the most popular trading platform amongst retail foreign exchange traders initially . The company has been increasing fees for its MT4 clients while leaving the MetaTrader 5 door wide open for new clients. Currently the license fee for the newest platform of the company is much lower than for MetaTrader 4.
The company announced during the Finance Magnates London Summit in November that it will be leading a transitional effort. After the introduction of hedging earlier this year, MetaQuotes is committed to investing more time and resources into the development of the MetaTrader 5 platform.
Earlier today the company highlighted in an official announcement that the effort is paying off with over 100 brokers currently . With a discounted license fee of $50,000 for existing clients, the latest solution from MetaQuotes is cheaper than the lucrative MetaTrader 4 license that costs about $100,000. That said any new clients of the company that plan to start straight from MetaTrader 5 will have to pay the full $100,000 price.
An official email from Metaquotes to its clients seen by Finance Magnates states that the company’s costs of operation of the MetaTrader 5 platform have increased.
Starting from today, the company will be calculating the pricing on new orders for additional MT4 servers differently. The changes also impact the activation of inactive servers. The monthly payments for technical support of the servers that are already activated will remain the same.
