Continuing to expand the permanent senior management team, Swissquote has made further appointments of senior executives. The firm announced plans to add more members to its long-term Executive Management at the Annual General Meeting back in May 2016.
Morgan Lavanchy and Gilles Chantrier have been appointed Chief Legal Officer and Chief Risk Officer respectively, effective 1 January 2017.
Consistent with the anticipated trajectory of the group, Swiss multi-asset brokerage has promoted relevant experiences to further enhance the existing management team, which currently composed of its CEO Marc Burki and Paolo Buzzi as the Chief Technology Officer, as well as its Chief Financial Officer Michael Ploog.
Gilles Chantrier, who has served in the company for nearly 16 years, most recently as Head of Controlling & Risk, will now oversee all of Swissquote’s risk functions to ensure that the company is compliant with relevant regulations.
Morgan Lavanchy, aged 37, will be tasked with the responsibility of overseeing every legal aspect of the business, bringing a wealth of business and legal management experience to his role. An MBA recipient from Neuchatel University and a master of Advanced Studies from Lausanne and Geneva Universities, Morgan has spent his entire career with Swissquote, joining the company in 2003 and most recently serving as Head of Legal & Compliance.
