Agribusiness is one of New Zealand’s largest sectors, given the country’s reliance on exports of milk powder and futures trading in this space. The new hire also follows on the heels of the recent sale of NZX’s New Zealand magazine publishing business and the Clear Grain Exchange in Australia.
In his new role as the head of the group’s Agri business, Mr. Anderson will help lead NZX’s redefined Trans-Tasman Agri unit, which will comprise of data and analytics businesses in New Zealand and Australia, along with the New Zealand Farmers Weekly publications business.
Mr. Anderson joins NZX from Vodafone in New Zealand, which is spearheading efforts in the agribusiness space. He also has experience with other venues in the antipodes, all relegated to the agricultural sector.
