Goldman Sachs Group Inc has just appointed Ellen Kullman to its board of directors, the group’s latest addition. She joins after serving on a number of chairmanships and directorships, according to a Reuters report.

The appointment comes after Goldman Sachs opted to expand its board to fourteen total directors, with eleven being independent. Ms. Kullman will be serving as an independent director. Her appointment begins with immediate effect.
She joins Goldman Sachs’ board after working as the former Chair and Chief Executive officer of E.I. du Pont de Nemours and Co. Ms. Kullman recently retired from the chemical company back in 2015, which makes this appointment her first foray with a Wall Street firm.
Previously, Ms. Kullman had served as DuPont’s CEO between 2009 and 2015, having originally joined DuPont back in 1988. The rest of her tenure with the company focused on a multitude of roles including stints as its President and Executive Vice President (VP), among others. She also currently sits on the boards of Dell Technologies, Amgen Inc and United Technologies Corporation.
