Australia and New Zealand Bank (ANZ) has seen its latest senior hire this month, securing the services of Scott Manning as Chief Financial Officer (CFO) – Australia, who joins the bank on August 1, 2017, according to a company statement.
Mr. Manning steps into a new senior role at ANZ, following a lengthy career in the financial services industry. As its newest CFO, he will be tasked with leading the lender’s finance functions for both the Australian and Digital divisions, whilst working as a key member of ANZ’s finance leadership team – in this capacity he will be reporting to ANZ’s Deputy Group CFO, Shane Buggle and will be based out of Melbourne.
Mr Manning comes over to ANZ from JPMorgan, having worked at the lender for a period of fifteen years. During this time he held multiple senior finance and analyst roles including his most recent position as Executive Director and lead Analyst for the Australian Banking Sector.
According to Mr. Buggle in a statement on the appointment, “It’s pleasing to be able to attract somebody with Scott’s considerable experience to join ANZ. His insights, commercial acumen and ability to challenge conventional thinking will make him a strong addition to the team as we continue to transform our business.”
“Scott is well known for not only asking probing questions but for also having a deep and considered knowledge of the banking industry. As one of Australia’s leading bank analysts, his experience examining the Australian banks makes him strongly qualified to lead a strategic finance role within ANZ,” he added.
ANZ also recently Jennifer Kusuma as its Senior Asia Rates Strategist from BNP Paribas who has since been tasked with providing analysis and insights in the fixed income markets space, relegated to key Asian markets, with an emphasis on Indonesia, Malaysia and Thailand.
