Intercontinental Exchange (NYSE:ICE), an operator of global exchanges and clearing houses, has made two changes to its board of directors, electing Ann Cairns and Duriya Farooqui as its newest additions with immediate effect, per a regulatory filing.
Ms. Cairns joins the ICE board having garnered a lengthy career in the banking space. She currently serves as the President of International Markets for MasterCard with previous senior roles at ABN-AMRO and Citigroup. She was initially appointed Chairperson of the ICE Clear Europe Board of Directors, following the retirement of Bob Reid.
By extension, Ms. Farooqui is the acting Executive Director of the Atlanta Committee for Progress. She has previously worked as a principal at Bain & Company, with additional municipal experience as the Chief Operating Officer of the City of Atlanta.
According to Jeffrey C. Sprecher, ICE’s Chairman and Chief Executive Officer, in a statement on the appointments: “We are very pleased to welcome these strong leaders in their respective fields to our board of directors. Ann’s experience in international finance, public policy and governance, along with Duriya’s background in government and operations will bring valuable insights and expertise.”
