BlockEx announced on Tuesday that Ronald Martin will be taking over the position of COO. As he approaches this new challenge, Mr. Martin leaves his position as Executive in Residence at Bain Capital Ventures. As the former Chief Executive at Paysafe, he brings a great deal of knowledge and experience from the financial and technical fields. This knowledge will surely be beneficial to a successful performance at BlockEx.
BlockEx is Making Moves
BlockEx is a Fintech company that offers a digital asset exchange platform(DAxP). According to the company’s website, the platform “manages the entire lifecycle of blockchain based digital assets, including origination, issuance, exchange, settlement and redemption.” As part of the DAxP, the company is currently launching its BlockEx ICO Market, which “will allow users to list and participate in compliant, high quality ICOs.” In another example of BlockEx continuing to take positive steps forward, the company in September of this year.
Career Background
Mr. Martin’s career is full of a great deal of significant experience. He spent most of the 1990s acting as Executive Vice President of Operations at First Service Corporation. Following a 2-year stint as VP of Sales at JobAdvantage.com, he leveraged his sales experience to become Vice President of Sales and Business Development at Salesnet from 2000-2004. Salesnet is a Boston-based SAAS company that exposed him to high-tech information and knowledge. Later in 2004, he worked in a similar position at Globoforce Inc.
In June 2005, Mr. Martin took a major leap forward by becoming the President and CEO of Paysafe, an independent and publicly-traded online payments company used by consumers and merchants based in over 180 countries. According to his LinkedIn, he made the most of his time at Paysafe as he “Directed and led a cross-functional team charged with redefining and revamping the company’s three-year operating vision & mission to ultimately restore overall profitability.” He remained at Paysafe for just under 5 years.
As he continued his career trajectory, he later took on executive positions at several companies, including Trendslide, NuoDB, and Altisource, “a $1.1 billion provider of technology and services to Banking/Real Estate industries.”
Mr. Martin has managed to gain a great deal of work experience throughout his career, in a variety of diversified fields of technology and finance. As he looks to enter the field of blockchain technology, his experience will surely go a long way towards providing substantial value in his new position as COO of BlockEx.
