Former eBay CTO Steve Fisher Joins First Derivatives’ Board

Technology provider,  (FD) announced on Wednesday the addition of Steve Fisher to the Group’s board of directors as a non-executive member.
He is an expert in the technology arena and is bringing over two decades of experience to the table. He has extensive experience in tech product development, ranging from enterprise software to online transaction platforms.

FD is expecting to leverage his expertise in the expansion of the Kx streaming analytics platform into other industries ‘adjacent to and outside of its capital markets heritage’.
“As the pace of digital transformation across industries continues to accelerate, the capture and analysis of real-time data at scale to drive decisions has become a top priority for businesses,” Fisher said in a statement.
“I see significant opportunities for Kx to underpin the data management and analysis infrastructure businesses require to extract the full value of their data.”
On-Boarding a Technology Expert
Fisher is known for his 5 year-long tenure at online marketplace as its chief technology officer. There he led the company’s core product and technology team, along with its global payments business and its multi-channel marketing platform and operations team.
Additionally, he spent a decade at Salesforce.com in various software engineering and product management leadership roles.
Starting his career as an academic, he also spent years with Apple and telecom giant AT&T. 
“Our Board comprises outstanding industry leaders across the technology and software space with the experience and skills to support our vision and high growth potential,” FD’s chairperson Donna Troy said.
“Steve’s technology development experience, gained at innovative, world-class companies, will enable him to make a significant contribution to our development. I am delighted to welcome him to the Board.”
Earlier this year, the company appointed as the chief revenue officer for Kx, Finance Magnates reported.
