Avelacom announced this Tuesday that it has completed a route between Sao Paulo, Brazil, and New York, USA, offering the fastest speed for market data and trade execution transmission between the major financial markets of North and Latin America.
The route established by the global connectivity and IT infrastructure provider connects two of Avelacom’s points of presence (PoPs) between Brazilian exchange group (B3) colocation facilities and the data centre of Nasdaq in Carteret, New Jersey.
With the creation of the new route, latency has been improved to 103.5 milliseconds. According to the statement provided by Avelacom, the route helps meet peak bandwidth requirements which have been expanded due to increased trading volumes and market volatility amid the coronavirus pandemic.
As , the connection provider recorded a 35 per cent increase in the volume of data transferred between exchanges in March, during peak COVID-19 volatility. During this time, demand from FX and cryptocurrency trading clients wanting to use high-speed strategies to keep pace was particularly significant.
Commenting on the announcement, Aleksey Larichev, CEO of Avelacom said in the statement: “With this new Brazil–USA route we are extending our network presence and have new opportunities to expand our business and offer services to the growing number of clients who are seeking trading opportunities in these markets.
“We have a 6-year experience in building shorter, new and unique paths using fiber optic technologies. Our connectivity solutions enable trading firms to get the most out of network and IT-infrastructure and improve trading performance.”

Following the establishment of the new PoP, Avelacom’s AWS Ashburn to AWS Dublin route, which is one of the most popular for cryptocurrency arbitrage, is now the fastest line available in the market, the statement from the company said, with a guaranteed round-trip latency of 65.3ms.
