Robinhood has secured itself a new Chief Marketing Officer, with the appointing Christina Smedley to the role, the company announced this week.
Under her role as CMO, Smedley will create an umbrella, encompassing marketing, content and communications. Furthermore, in its statement on Tuesday, Robinhood said that she will be responsible for establishing new teams across functional areas, including product marketing and brand strategy.

Smedley joins Robinhood from Facebook, where she spent more than four years, according to her LinkedIn profile. Most recently, she was the Vice President, Brand & Marketing for the Novi – a digital wallet for the Libra blockchain payment network.

Earlier in her career, Smedley was the VP, Global Brand and Communications at PayPal. She joined the payments company in October of 2012, and moved on to Facebook in November of 2015.

Earlier in her career, Smedley worked during its formative years, from 1999 until 2004. During her time here she was the Director of Worldwide Communications. She has also held senior positions at Edelman.
