(HKEX) announced this Wednesday that it has made a number of , including the selection of the Co-Head of IPO Vetting.
Today, HKEX has named Stephanie Lau as Managing Director, Co-Head of IPO Vetting, effective from the 1st of May, 2020. Lau is currently the Senior Vice President, Listed Issuer Regulation with the company. In the new role, Lau will oversee all HKEX issuer listing applications together with Lin Shi.
Lau takes on this new role with two decades worth of experience in corporate finance and listed related matters. She is qualified as a lawyer in Hong Kong, England and Wales and will report to Bonnie Y Chan, Head of Listing in her new role.
Katherine Ng named Chief Operating Officer, Listing at HKEX
The second change announced by the firm is that it has named Katherine Ng, who is a current Managing Director, Listing, has been appointed Chief Operating Officer, Listing.
As the COO of Listing, she will continue to lead Listing’s Policy and Secretariat Services department, HKEX said, and will also report to Bonnie Y Chan, Head of Listing. This change will also come into effect on the 1st of May, 2020.
Commenting on the new appointments, Bonnie Y Chan, Head of Listing, said in the statement: “These are key appointments in one of the busiest Listing departments in the world, and I am delighted to be promoting from within the talented pool at HKEX.
“Having recently re-joined HKEX myself, I have been impressed by the skills and dedication across the division, and I am very much looking forward to continue to work with my team, focusing on our core regulatory responsibilities and supporting Hong Kong’s leading position as a highly-regarded international financial market.”
With Ng taking on the role of COO, List, Grace Hui, who currently holds this role, will move to HKEX’s Markets Division to take on a new role, as Managing Director, Head of Green and Sustainable Finance. Hui will report to Wilfred Yiu, Head of Markets.
