OANDA, , has a new Chief Product Officer (CPO) – Kurt vom Scheidt, the company announced this Tuesday.
Based in London, vom Scheidt brings more than 30 years of experience to OANDA in the financial services sector, specialising in foreign exchange (forex).
During his career, he has held numerous positions with international banks and brokers. At the new York-headquartered firm, vom Scheidt will be responsible for developing the company’s product strategy.

Most recently, vom Scheidt was an advisor to three firms; , FX Prime AG and FairXchange. As , his collaboration with these firms was driven by a desire to instil some change in the wider foreign exchange trading world.
Prior to this, vom Scheidt spent the last , holding a number of roles during his time with the firm. His last role with the multi-asset broker was Executive Director, Global Head of Foreign Exchange.
He joined the firm in January of 2008 as the COO – Options and worked with the broker until December of last year.

Before his 11-year tenure at Saxo Bank, vom Scheidt held a number of roles at top financial firms such as Commerzbank where he worked for more than four years.
From November of 1995 until March of 2001, vom Scheidt was employed at Deutsche Bank, where he held the role of Director – Head of Global Support, FX Technology /Global Head of Tactical Solutions, FX Options Tech.

In addition to his career experience, vom Scheidt holds an MBA in Finance from Columbia University in New York and a BSc in Finance and Statistics from Syracuse University.
